Artful integration
Sculpture serves as the integrating element that weaves this highly visible yet private garden space into the community. Stainless Steel chairs designed by a local artist, Dino Kotopolis, offer a relaxing vista across a refined bluestone framed terrace towards public art sculpture in the adjacent Boulevard, Tampa Bay and the distant cityscape. A secret garden east of the home features a refined fountain sculpture where 3 etched glass globes created by renowned artist Duncan McClelland float on a black granite fountain as though they where carefully placed on a mirror. Lush plantings of azaleas, gardenias and perennials surround the terraces allowing the homeowner to comfortably enjoy the outdoor environment. The result is an outdoor space that is both a part of the home as well as the community which has led to an increase of use and greater interaction between the homeowner and the community. |
