David Conner & Associates was selected to implement an aggressive environmentally sensitive site planning and landscape architectural design for this 24-acre mixed-use development. The final plan proposed reorganizing the original site plan so that storm retention sites located throughout the property could be combined into three large natural restoration sites. Commercial development was placed around the restoration ponds to provide enjoyable views and comfortable outdoor seating and walks for the neighboring residents. Native plantings of Slash Pine, Cabbage Palm, Fakahatchee Grass, and Spartina, were place in and around the storm ponds. The result is a people friendly natural environment that hosts native and migratory birds.
