Cancer Survivors Plaza is designed to give hope to
individuals effected by cancer. Funded by a $1 million gift from
the Richard and Annette Bloch foundation the project helps us understand
cancer, the challenges effecting survival and the value of celebrating
every day of life. The project includes 48 individual works of art
from children with cancer encircling a 12' tall monument of Florida
Lime Rock boulders symbolizing cancer, earthen berms in the form of
large waves, a 140’ aluminum
trellis, 65’ “Sail”
sculpture, walls planted with native grasses, shaded seating for
cancer patients, extensive native and perennial plantings, and
plaques offering information and encouragement to visitors.
